�DON�T YOU EVER WANT TO CRY?� What I said about my body clock being fucked... well, it hasn�t got any better. I meant to get to this earlier, like a few days ago but obviously that didn�t happen. I�ve been stretching myself way too thin. The new job plus the old job plus the writing plus the odd hours... nowhere near enough hours in the day and I�m getting too old to last on three or four hours of sleep anymore. Anyway... First off a few apologies. Biggest one goes to Stu who turned thirty-one a few days ago and heard fuck all from me. Mate, if you�re reading this I�m sorry. My ultra hip mobile phone is fucked and like an idiot I don�t have the info anywhere else so i couldn�t ring anyone � I don�t even know my own mother�s phone number until I get the handset fixed. In trying to fix it myself I managed to block the chip and now need to get the security settings taken off before i can stick it into another phone... anyway enough with the excuses. If I was supposed to ring you or you haven'� heard from me for a while that'� the reason. Sorry again Stu, hope you had a great Birthday even without me moaning at you down the phone. Drop me an email or something with your number on ok? Your new address would be good too. We�ll be up there in the next month or so. Work is cool. The new job is just different enough to be a little confusing at times but overall I�m back in my element. I�ve even had old customers from Ottakar�s come in and say hi which was pretty nice. The people I work with are all good guys so far, especially Steph who had to put up with a lot of crap during that training period. The best thing about the gig is that from next week I�ll be working the fiction section. Biggest and best section in one of the biggest bookstores in central London � I�m over the moon about that. This Thursday I�m off to see Chuck Palahniuk again. Because I�ve been rushing around so much this week I didn�t even realise that the guy was in town until the last minute so by the time I get my arse to Foyles today the event is sold out. Thank fuck I can�t take no for an answer. After much begging and sweet talk a very helpful (and rival) bookseller named Fiona gave me the very last ticket � what a star she is. So I�ve swung my hours around so I can get there and see Chuck on time and will hopefully have copies of his new novel 'Lullaby' by then. If anyone wants me to get something signed for them let me know before Thursday. Cool. Other stuff � cool guy named Martin emailed me out of the blue last week regarding An American Werewolf in London. He�s putting together a very cool site on the movie and read what I had to say about it and thought he�d drop me a line. Upshot of that is that I�m going to be contributing to the site. He�s already taken some recent photos of the �Yorkshire� segment of the film but its down to me to grab the London sequences. This means I get to try and get into the flat used by Jenny Agutter. Should be interesting � I�m pretty excited by this and now I�ve seen the screenshots of the site in progress I know its going to look good with some killer content. A fresh interview with Griffin Dunne for example. As soon as the site is up I will of course link the hell out of it. Duncan�s days in the UK are winding down. This evening Bruce and Katie were here, Frank has moved in for a few weeks (before he leaves for Oz) so Jess and I have just been catching up and drinking too much wine. Tonight we had a great little discussion about The Exorcist III amongst other movies. Frank kept us entertained Steve Irwin style with his tales of the bush and I returned the favour by revealing what a little fuck I was as a kid. Anyway, I didn�t expect to be still up at this hour again but we were just on a roll... I saw Lantana again today. One of the best films I�ve seen all year. Bloody great. Reign of Fire wasn�t what it should have been but was still entertaining despite the rushed ending. Jess is raving about the new Almodovar but I�ve yet to see it... This is the last time I�ll allow the blog to slip. I�ll add more tomorrow and will have long expected new content up on the main site on Friday and Saturday when i get a break from work.
