It gets to 3am and you start to see rabbits... I just spent a good half hour falling deeper inside the website for Donnie Darko. I've no idea how good the movie will be when it finally makes its way over here but the website is very good. It's similar to the campaign for A.I. last year filled with mock news articles and hidden passwords but its also very dark, On one section you get to dip into a spiritual self help book written by one of the movie's characters - the preface includes the following: "The intent of this short book is for it to be used as a simple and direct guide in a time of great danger. I pray that this is merely a work of fiction. If it is not then I pray for you, the reader of this book." It's very similar to the way that 'House of Leaves' unfolds... but with a big fucking rabbit. Kind of like 'Harvey' meets 'The Sixth Sense'. Plus its got Drew Barrymore and Patrick Swayze in it. Don't laugh... I'm figuring this could be pretty big. Rabbits are very scary and relatively underused in horror movies... Anyone remember 'Night of the Lepus'? The makers of 'The Matrix' did... Enough about rabbits already... Tomorrow I'm dragging Jess to see 'Blade 2'. Evil boyfriend. Today I started watching all the extras on the 'Big Trouble in Little China' DVD. I've probably left it a little late to get something together and off to the the magazines but it should make a decent calling card piece. If not there is always room for it on the site. Now I have my schedule all sorted out I'll be able to rack up the writing hours - as I've done this evening - beginning to need more coffee though. Tomorrow I'm meeting up with Tash fresh from Spain and in need of a few months worth of gossip. After that the cinema and maybe the comic shops... life is good. Lets see - you should also probably check this out - funnily enough it also features rabbits... Thanks for the link Alex. I'm going to go grab another drink and crack on with the trusty word processor. I may get a chance to post back here later if I haven't crashed out on the keyboard... you may just see a long sting of yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu - like in the bad old days of AOL. I remember having a very one sided conversation with an old work colleague years ago - I gave up after he failed to respond and in the morning he was still there. logged into his own little chatroom. Turns out he'd got drunk. signed on and collapsed. This was back in the days of 500 phone bills as well.... I hate to think how much Stu and I donated to BT throgh AOL madness... I'm rambling... Happy Easter but don't trust the bunny... Mike is blogging to birdsong and fox howls... makes me sound like I live in the country...
