"YOU WON'T LIKE ME WHEN I'M ANGRY" I did a quick trawl around yesterday for new movie stuff and got really scared... There are a few interesting things like Batman: The Frightening (caped crusader locked up in Arkham Asylum trying to figure out who he is) which will probably never get off the ground. Some stuff that has the potential to be either really good or really bad (The Fantastic Four) and some stuff that just sounds odd (Around the World in 80 Days with Jackie Chan). Here though are a few films already apparently in pre-production that make me want to fly planes into buildings... Constantine: A movie version of the 'Hellblazer' comic. Bad idea for a million reasons. The character of Constantine is a fucked up English guy/old punk/total bastard/magician (not like David Blane). It would be a tough role to pull off by any English actor that I can think of but some bright spark has already cast Keanu Reeves. God, that's depressing. Easy Rider AD: Need I say more? Helldorado: The pitch: "Dude, it's like Eldorado but with an 'H'...and The Rock can be in it!" Lemony Snicket: I'd love to see this work but Jim Carrey? Preacher: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. The Chronicles of Riddick: Not one but two sequels to Pitch Black Troy: or Diet-Iliad. Pretty boys Brad Pitt, Eric Bana and Orlando Bloom looking for Gladiator type action. Van Helshing: Hugh Jackman continues to sign up for shit. It's a Dracula meets The Wolfman meets Frankenstein's Monster movie but without Abbot & Costello. Once upon a time in Mexico: Belated sequel to Desperado may just be saved by the addition of Johnny Depp. Underworld: 'Romeo and Juliet' but with werewolves and vampires... fucking genius. I am also a little worried about The Hulk. Check out the new trailer... not too sure about the CGI. The new Matrix trailer is also up - more of the same but flashier - even this has me worried because of the ragged humans fighting machines angle... I'm just never satisfied huh? Maybe I should go out and buy the special edition Unforgiven DVD and cheer myself up. Mike is blogging to: nothing
