Its been expected for a while but its still a little numbing to see it go. I�m using Grokster now for all my music and movie downloads but its not a patch on AG. My new friend Danny wants to kick off some mailart and we�re still bashing out the details. It�ll be in the form of some kind of journal with a very flexible framework for contributors. Basically Danny or myself will start it off with a single entry and then we snailmail it to the next interested party who adds to it. The kind of thing you add is entirely up to you � paste something in it, draw, paint write, smear bodily fluids all over it � whatever. I�m trying to get some friends in the States to start one off too and then when we get enough hits on this side of the Atlantic we can swap the books over. Obviously the whole thing is open to failure as we are in the hands of the postal service and are trusting everyone involved to mail it on � plus its obviously a long term plan as the whole thing will take fucking forever but if we can get enough people having a go at it the end result should be pretty interesting. Once we declare the thing �finished� we�ll reproduce it digitally and stick it up online. Anyway, like I say I�m still knocking out the framework with Danny but as soon as we agree on something I�ll post info here and all you artistic bastards can have a pop at it. I just started the new Paul Auster � Duncan gave it to me yesterday and I stayed up late to get a good start on it � and its fucking good. The Book of Illusions due out in hardback in October, go and reserve a copy now. Need to hook up with Daisy some time in the next week and also swing around to Ottakar�s and catch up with the underpaid. Oh, and finding a fucking job may be an idea...
