Billie Piper stars in the first of six modern takes on Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. Watch it Thursdays at 9pm on BBC One. The Miller's Tale is set in the curtain twitching world of Kent suburbia. John (Dennis Waterman) runs a pub and Bed & Breakfast and a regular Karaoke night, of which his much younger wife Alison (Billie Piper), is queen bee. One night a smooth talking stranger Nick (James Nesbitt) arrives in the pub, claiming to be a talent scout and declaring that Alison has what it takes to be a star. Alison is drawn to him by the promise of fame, but his motives aren't quite what they seem... I am so glad I don't watch television anymore. Just the CONCEPT of this is making my brain bleed. My dial is on 4 for these people. Does anyone in the country even care that the BBC is allowed to get away with this? You PAY for them to make this shit. Billie Piper pauses from emptying Chris Evans' red haired testicles down her throat only long enough to help herself to the money from your pocket. You should be marching on the BBC. Or at least writing into Points of View...
