So we watched The Quatermass Xperiment and damn good it was too.
It's great (but also more than a little sad) to see a time when British film making still had some balls. I think we lost something very important when we traded in rocketships and Hammer Horror for costume dramas and Hugh Grant.
I wonder how much money you'd need to make a decent short movie these days? I probably know enough talented people in and around London to get something off the ground. I can always use beer to convince them and if we ended up with 30 minutes of hacking fake limbs and ketchup spurts that would be fun too. I may put some more thought into that. I could do with a Winter project.
(Mark - I owe you email. I'll get to that. In the meantime I wanted to point out that the monster died at the end of tonight's movie thanks to the sterling work of Battersea Power Station. We should watch that scene and maybe the first 20 minutes of Nighthawks the next time you come over).
Jess found out today that she has to cover the Lib Dem conference in September which is good for a few days out of London but bad as we have tickets to see The Dresden Dolls and probably won't be able to make it. If you are a fan (of the band not the political party) then drop me a line and we'll work something out.
In a little over a week we will be in Oslo...
