Today should be fun - stuck in the store until 8pm but with fun companions Chris and Cat. Then onto drinks with Duncan and co. Seeing as Duncan will have been in The Duck since 6ish there is a good chance that his hands will already be aflame. Tomorrow we are off to see 'Atanarjaut - The Fast Runner' - a digital eskimo movie which I'm looking forward to after the good but safe 'Gosford Park' and slightly damp 'Shipping News' (How could Cate Blanchett get so bad so fast? She sucked in LOTR and her role as Spacey's bitch of a wife is just brain-numbing). In fact her five minute cameo in LOTR when she gets all 'potentially evil' with Frodo reminded me a lot of that great hammy performace in 'Excalibur' : "Are you a dream Merlin?" askes bumpkin Arthur, "Aye, a dream to some - A NIGHTMARE TO OTHERS!" rants Merlin complete with flashing light on the end of his staff - good stuff. Seeing as I spelt Mark's name wrong in that earlier blog Mr Ponde is more than welcome to keep his copy of 'Shaft'. Sometimes the people who surprise you the most are the people that really shouldn't surprise you at all. Thanks for the email Stu. Mike is blogging to: Not a bloody thing.
